What will I learn?

This course will teach you how to understand dementia, the different types of dementia, how it gets worse, and the things people with dementia do. You will learn how to make places safe, how to set up routines, and how to change things like what people see, hear, and touch to help them. We will also talk about activities like music and art that can help people feel less worried and angry. You will learn how to talk to people the right way, what is right and wrong when taking care of people, and ways to handle difficult behaviors. We will talk about working with other healthcare workers and getting family members involved to give the best care.
